AVHRR SST is compared with the climatological SST for the region and time period specified. The units of the data are degree C. Products are intended for federal, state, and local government environmental decision makers. Other uses include recreational boating, educators, resource managers, and researchers. Products are validated with in situ measurements to quantify their accuracy. The CoastWatch Browser is a web page for selecting, viewing, and downloading near-real-time satellite data and other data for the west coast of the U.S. and Mexico. It creates custom maps on-the-fly of the data that you select. The maps can include bathymetry contour lines, contour lines from other data sets, and vectors from other data sets. The GIF format is recognized by most graphics applications. The PDF format is a file format designed for electronic document display, and can be viewed using PDF viewing software.
