SPLs were calculated in Pamguide with a 3600 second resolution over the frequency band of 200 to1000 Hz and converted to decibels (dB re 1 µPa). These data were recorded at SanctSound Site HI01_02 between November 05, 2019 and January 14, 2020. These data are available to the public for a wide variety of uses including scientific research and analysis. This project received funding from the U.S. Navy. completed NOAA National Centers for Environmental Information ncei.info@noaa.gov https://www.ncei.noaa.gov/contact NCEI Contact Information Information for contacts at NCEI. information pointOfContact Carrie Wall NOAA National Centers for Environmental Information NCEI Passive Acoustic Archive Lead pad.info@noaa.gov pointOfContact asNeeded https://www.ngdc.noaa.gov/mgg/pad/SanctSound/20181009-sound-monitoring-locations-1000.jpg Monitoring locations for the SanctSound project. For the next few years, these agencies will work with numerous scientific partners to study sound within seven national marine sanctuaries and one marine national monument, which includes waters off Hawai'i and the east and west coasts. Standardized acoustic measurements are used to assess sounds produced by marine animals, physical processes (e.g., wind and waves), and human activities. Collectively, this information will help NOAA and the Navy measure sound levels and baseline acoustic conditions in sanctuaries. This work is a continuation of ongoing Navy and NOAA monitoring and research, including efforts by the NOAA Office of National Marine Sanctuaries. information largerWorkCitation project eng; USA biota oceans Site HI01_02 -156.65543 -156.65543 20.80734 20.80734 2019-11-05T20:00:00Z 2020-01-14T23:00:00Z Passive acoustic data physicalMeasurement timestamp string Timestamp in ISO 8601 date format acoustic double Sound pressure levels (SPLs) in units of µPa^2 were calculated by integration of pressure spectral density estimates of the mean-square pressure with a 1 Hz/1 second resolution over the frequency band of 200-1,000 Hz. All data were collected with standardized and calibrated acoustic recording equipment. Data quality was assessed through visual analysis and examination of acoustic levels over time across all frequencies. Sound pressure levels (SPLs) in units of µPa^2 were calculated by integration of sound pressure spectral density (PSD) estimates of the mean-square pressure (µPa^2) with a 1 Hz/1 second resolution over the frequency band of 200-1,000 Hz. The resulting SPLs with the 1 second resolution were then used to calculate SPLs per hour as a median over no less than 1,800 1-second values for that hour. The SPLs per hour were converted to decibels (dB re 1 µPa).
