NOAA/National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI) 1/4 Degree Daily Optimum Interpolation Sea Surface Temperature (OISST) Analysis, Version 2.1 - Inter. NOAAs 1/4-degree Daily Optimum Interpolation Sea Surface Temperature (OISST) (sometimes referred to as Reynolds SST, which however also refers to earlier products at different resolution), currently available as version v02r01, is created by interpolating and extrapolating SST observations from different sources, resulting in a smoothed complete field. The sources of data are satellite (Advanced Very High Resolution Radiometer (AVHRR)) and in situ platforms (i.e., ships and buoys), and the specific datasets employed may change over time. At the marginal ice zone, sea ice concentrations are used to generate proxy SSTs. A preliminary version of this file is produced in near-real time (1-day latency), and then replaced with a final version after 2 weeks. Note that this is the AVHRR-ONLY DOISST, available from Oct 1981, but there is a companion DOISST product that includes microwave satellite data, available from June 2002"; String testOutOfDate "now-4days"; String time_coverage_end "2024-12-29T12:00:00Z"; String time_coverage_start "2020-05-04T12:00:00Z"; String title "SST, Daily Optimum Interpolation (OI), AVHRR Only, Version 2.1, Preliminary, Global, 0.25°, 2020-present, Lon+/-180"; Float64 Westernmost_Easting -179.875; } }
The URL specifies what you want: the dataset, a description of the graph or the subset of the data, and the file type for the response.
griddap request URLs must be in the form
https://coastwatch.pfeg.noaa.gov/erddap/griddap/datasetID.fileType{?query}
For example,
https://coastwatch.pfeg.noaa.gov/erddap/griddap/jplMURSST41.htmlTable?analysed_sst[(2002-06-01T09:00:00Z)][(-89.99):1000:(89.99)][(-179.99):1000:(180.0)]
Thus, the query is often a data variable name (e.g., analysed_sst),
followed by [(start):stride:(stop)]
(or a shorter variation of that) for each of the variable's dimensions
(for example, [time][latitude][longitude]).
For details, see the griddap Documentation.
