This data is provided at moderate spatial resolution (0.025 degrees) for the Global Ocean. Measurements are gathered by Japan's Advanced Microwave Scanning Radiometer (AMSR-E) instrument, a passive radiance sensor carried aboard NASA's Aqua spacecraft.
